Confluent Photonics Introduces New Strand-Mount DWDM Mux/Demuxes

Confluent Photonics, a leading provider of optical transport solutions, today introduced the new StrandPlex™ family of strand-mount DWDM Multiplexer/Demultiplexers. Specifically designed for those applications where outside-plant installation is easier and less costly, the StrandPlex units offer a convenient, low-cost solution for HFC network designers by enabling the mounting of passive DWDM components in strand-mounted locations.

The StrandPlex family includes 16- and 20-channel Mux/Demuxes for 200 GHz spacing, and 32- and 40-channel options for 100 GHz spacing. These Mux/Demuxes feature ultra-low insertion loss, excellent uniformity and extremely low chromatic dispersion, setting the industry standard for high-channel count, high-speed applications.

Capable of extreme operating temperatures (-40 to +85 ºC), and protected by industry-standard weather proof housings, these optical products are ideal for applications like node splitting and overbuilding in dense, high real estate value areas, where indoor installation is difficult and expensive.
